Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) today announced the company was named one of China’s Most Favorite Semiconductor Brands of 2011 by China Electronics News and the Electronic Information Industry Network, two of the most authoritative media outlets in the region. Marvell is also the first semiconductor company in the award’s seven-year history to be recognized in the TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) and mobile communications categories.

“We’re so proud to receive this honorable recognition. Our global reputation has been built on a passion for technology and industry leadership, combined with a commitment to win-win relationships with our customers and partners. I believe our Chinese name for the company, ‘Mei Man’, which literally translates to ‘beautiful harmony’ captures everything Marvell stands for—our one-stop shop total technology solutions, our dedicated employees, our core business philosophy and our mutually-beneficial partnerships with our customers,” said Weili Dai, Co-Founder of Marvell. “Marvell’s recognition as one of the most favorite semiconductor brands in China is a tremendous honor for our team members, who are committed to providing the most innovative semiconductor solutions for the region. I’m very proud of our role in driving and enabling new innovations for the next billion users of connected devices in China.”

According to award organizer Huawei Shi, Vice President of China Electronics News, “Brand power, sales, products, service capabilities and localization are important indicators in evaluating the popularity of a semiconductor company in China. As a leading chip supplier in the TD market, Marvell plays a critical role in promoting the fast development of the industry with its continued commitment to technology innovation. Marvell is a perfect fit for the award.”

Jointly organized by China Electronics News and the Electronic Information Industry Network (www.cena.com.cn), both under the administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, "China’s Favorite Semiconductor Brand” is an annual competition that recognizes the outstanding semiconductor companies in the Chinese market.
