EK®, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is officially making its aluminum-based DIY custom liquid cooling loop products and solutions exclusive to the prebuilt Fluid Gaming PC portfolio.

The performance and reliability of the aluminum-based products laid the foundation for the Fluid Gaming PC line, which successfully brought fully liquid-cooled gaming PCs to the mainstream market. The aluminum-based products allowed for the lower, more competitive prices of prebuilt gaming systems and, at the same time, safer shipping with lower costs.

It would be easy to partially “blame” the success of the EK-Classic copper-based kits for the changes that are happening. With additional engineering efforts and production optimization, EK was able to upgrade, expand, and make the already competitive EK-Classic Line liquid cooling kits even more affordable. This made it possible for EK to offer copper-based EK-Classic Kits instead of aluminum-based EK Fluid Gaming Kits, with a lower risk of mixing these metals and subsequent easier expansion of the liquid cooling loop.

As you might have already noticed, all of the EK Fluid Gaming liquid cooling kits have reached the end of their lifecycles and aren’t available for purchase anymore. Probably one of the most important pieces of information to share at this point is that they are not coming back.

The other very important piece of information is that EK guarantees to support owners of EK Fluid Gaming custom loop kits, meaning that EK will produce aluminum-based full-cover water blocks for the next generation of Nvidia® (30 Series) and AMD® based reference graphics cards, which will be available as standalone products. In other words, owners of the existing EK Fluid Gaming aluminum-based liquid cooling kits will still be able to upgrade their PCs with the latest graphics cards.

Aluminum is not going away – it just won’t be available anymore in standalone custom loop liquid cooling parts. Aluminum products will be used in the prebuilt EK Fluid Gaming PCs product range and other prebuilt products where the customer receives a ready-made, fully liquid-cooled PC that does not require any expansion.

Since EK Fluid Gaming custom loop kits are no more and aluminum spare parts are going away, it might seem like there are not a lot of upgrade options left for the user. However, everyone who has a proof of purchase* of an EK-Fluid Gaming Kit will be entitled to a 20% discount on any of the EK-Classic Line liquid cooling kits.** These kits are already priced very competitively, and with the added discount, they will offer an excellent basis for future upgrades for everyone who is frequently upgrading their PC.

The EK Fluid Gaming Custom Loop spare parts that were located at www.ekfluidgaming.com/parts/ are now migrated to www.ekwb.com/shop/clearance/fg-aluminum-parts, where they will remain until stock runs out. Meaning, the www.ekfluidgaming.com page will be home to only fully liquid-cooled, prebuilt gaming PCs.

*Proof of purchase is a photo of the PC equipped with one of the EK Fluid Gaming Custom Loop Liquid Cooling kits, with a piece of paper that has the date of the photo written on it, and any form of a bill, receipt, or invoice of the kit’s purchase.
