EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced that it has joined the SRT Alliance and integrated the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) protocol into its DuraVision IP decoding solutions. The products that support the new protocol are the DuraVision FDF2711W-IP and DX0211-IP.

The DuraVision FDF2711W-IP (27-inch monitor with 1920 x 1080 resolution) and DX0211-IP (decoding box) are two products from a line of PC-less IP decoding solutions offered by EIZO. They provide connection to multiple IP cameras, high-performance decoding technology, custom layouts, and other display options for flexible application in user environments.

The SRT Alliance, founded by Haivision in April 2017, already has more than 500 members. Its mission is to overcome the challenges of low-latency live streaming by supporting the collaborative development of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), the fastest growing open source streaming project. SRT is a free open source video transport protocol and technology stack originally developed and pioneered by Haivision that enables the delivery of high-quality and secure, low-latency video across the public internet.

SRT is already widely used throughout the broadcasting market and is gaining traction for security & surveillance applications. Integrating the protocol into DuraVision IP decoding solutions allows EIZO to offer increased security, reliability, and quality when streaming video from IP cameras across the network. This will enable reliable video streaming in environments where latency and consistent connection pose a challenge, such as onboard ships or in remote locations.

Hideo Katada, Senior Manager, R&D, Visual Technology at EIZO Corporation commented, “We were genuinely impressed by the quality of the streams of the SRT protocol, so when given the opportunity to support it with our IP decoding solutions, we were eager to get on board. With remote work operations becoming more prevalent, we believe this opportunity will allow EIZO to expand the potential of our solutions in a growing market.”

“Remote video workflows are growing worldwide and they’re becoming key in different industries such as security and surveillance,” said Suso Carrillo, Director of the SRT Alliance for Haivision. “SRT is an open source protocol being widely adopted worldwide. Its ease of implementation is helping companies to improve their video development, as EIZO is proving.”
