Wolfratshausen, Germany, January 29, 2013 – EIZO Technologies GmbH (EIZO) announced the release of the Raptor SQ2814, a newly designed 2K x 2K monitor for air traffic control. The Raptor SQ2814 comes equipped with all the features and functionality of EIZO’s 2K x 2K product line, such as EIZO eBlue LED backlight technology, in a significantly lighter and more compact design. Addressing the trend towards open controller positions, EIZO has further reduced the weight by 40% to just 18 kg, minimizing stress on mounting arms. The monitor is also extremely space efficient with a height and width of 605 mm each and a depth of only 110.7 mm.

The Raptor SQ2814 consumes just 60 watts at the typical brightness levels used in many ATC control centers and the backlight has a lifetime of more than 100,000 hours. The EIZO eBlue LED backlight technology also provides superior brightness uniformity across the screen and significantly less color shift over the life of the monitor. An integrated automatic backlight stabilizer allows the controller to set the backlight brightness and ensure it remains constant over the life of the monitor.

The Raptor SQ2814 is the first 2K x 2K monitor in the industry to have DisplayPort connection capabilities and is also equipped with other standard connections such as dual DVI-I (dual link) connectors that come standard, and single or dual analog BNC x 5. The monitor is fully customizable for special requirements such as a fan-less solution, second power supply, screen in matte finish, etc. The monitor supports resolutions from 640 x 480 up to its native 2048 x 2048.

To accommodate different usage environments, the Raptor SQ2814 is available in both VESA mount and desktop versions. The desktop version includes a stand with tilt and swivel capability.
