NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR), the leading provider of award-winning connected products designed to simplify and improve people’s lives, today announced the launch of Meural Opus, the latest addition to its award-winning platform for showcasing blockchain-verified art and photography . With Meural Opus, NETGEAR has introduced a next-generation NFT viewing experience for collectors and strengthened its vision to create new ways to interact with digital art and culture.
Blockchain technology continues to transform the way we interact with digital culture and NETGEAR’s Meural line of digital canvases was designed in anticipation of this shift. Doubling down on its support of the collectors and creators of digital-native art, NETGEAR has once again elevated its Meural platform to make digital art more accessible to a wider audience while helping collectors bring their pieces to life via the dynamic display.
“We’ve understood digital art from the beginning and since the inception of Meural in 2015 have continued to seek new ways to support this burgeoning space,” said Poppy Simpson, senior product & content manager for NETGEAR’s Meural product line. “Meural Opus is the next step in our commitment to providing a best-in-class display for NFTs and other digital collectible art.”
The Next Generation of Meural
With the new Meural Opus platform, NFT collectors can now securely connect to their crypto wallets, authenticate their artworks, and send collections straight to their wall on a stunning 27” display. Additionally, new Bluetooth® audio connectivity lets collectors bring their art to life with authentic sound.
The Meural Opus app also enables collectors to scale, size, and edit NFTs to their liking from the image customization suite. NFT and tech enthusiasts can enjoy everything from digital art to iOS Live Photos, which will now look as striking as they would on traditional canvas, thanks to NETGEAR’s patented TrueArt Technology.
“Showcasing NFTs has long been the missing part of the market’s puzzle. Digital art deserves to be displayed and appreciated with the same ceremony that so-called traditional art enjoys,” added Simpson. “NETGEAR is a firm supporter of this innovative space, the community that drives it and the collective desire to experience digital art in a new way.”
NFT Drop
Coinciding with the launch of Meural Opus, NETGEAR has partnered with esteemed NFT artist Eric Corriel for an exclusive NFT drop. Earlier this year, Corriel launched a portrait studio for digital files on blockchain that attempts to do justice to the uniqueness, complexity, and diversity of the data contained by our digital files. Many famous files–from AOL CD-ROMs and Under Construction gifs to the Bitcoin whitepaper–have altered the course of history and culture. Corriel has set out to celebrate their impact with Enter The Machine 3.0: Famous Files, a portraiture studio which generates file portraits in their honor.
To help inspire Corriel’s latest work, NETGEAR is offering Meural fans the opportunity to vote on some of the top moments in digital file history, while the first 20 customers who purchase Meural Opus will be gifted an exclusive NFT from his collection, each commemorating landmark moments. Voting is now underway here.
NETGEAR’s launch of Meural Opus is the company’s latest foray into the world of NFTs, following integrations with crypto wallets Coinbase and MetaMask and a partnership with Async Art to add dynamic, programmable NFTs to the Meural library. Last year, NETGEAR also joined the SuperRare DAO to help develop a licensing and royalty model for displaying NFTs on digital displays.
Availability
Meural Opus will be available for $799.99 starting next month on NETGEAR.com/Opus.
