[Las Vegas, April 17, 2012]:  Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today participated in the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2012, the world’s largest digital media and entertainment event in Las Vegas. Huawei showcased its leading data center solutions for the media and broadcasting industry, aimed at increasing business agility and commercial success based on open and converged architecture with the end-to-end ability to cater to all media and business types.

Under the theme "Enrich Media, Enrich Life”, Huawei showcased its comprehensive portfolio of IT solutions that fully support various media and entertainment scenarios. Huawei highlighted two key solutions at the event:

  • Huawei Media Cloud solution: a cloud-based media storage and processing data center that enables massive media processing and an optimized user experience for full media life-cycles. It increases the value of content assets and advertising, as well as greatly reduces customers’ long-term storage and operation maintenance costs.
  • Huawei Postproduction Storage solution: For filmmakers and TV producers, this solution can be customized to meet specific needs across various business phases and is capable of addressing current requirements, while establishing an IT infrastructure to allow for efficient and cost-effective development in the future.

Huawei maintains a competitive position in the high-end network-attached storage (NAS) market. The OceanStor N8000, used by the world’s leading media resource companies, is a clustered NAS system featuring advanced architecture, robust reliability, superb scalability, high performance, and easy management. The N8000 meets the requirements of high-performance computing databases and provides up to 15 PB capacities, while supporting low-cost post-production storage solutions and media asset management systems. The solid-state storage system, Dorado, meets high performance customer requirements, whereas the OceanStor Sx900 SAN series is able to meet the requirements of large-scale databases, providing customers with comprehensive high performance storage solutions as a result of its industry-leading performance and efficiency improvement mechanisms.
