G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd., the world’s leading brand of performance overclock memory and PC components, is announcing the rules and benchmarks for the OC World Cup 2024 live overclocking competition, covering the Live Qualifier and Grand Final Stages, which will be held at the G.SKILL Computex booth located in the Nangang Exhibition Hall from June 4 to June 7, 2024.
6 Benchmarks for the Live Qualifier Stage
The G.SKILL OC World Cup 2024 Live Qualifier Stage is the semi-finals round for the live overclocking competition and has a unique format, where contestants can only submit scores of specified benchmarks within each designated time slot. Only in the last 80 minutes of each overclocker's second on-stage appearance, the contestants can re-run and re-submit any of the benchmark scores. This format challenges the overclocker's overclocking and time management skills. The following 6 benchmarks have been carefully selected for the Live Qualifier to test the skills of the 9 semi-finalists:
- Highest DDR5 Memory Frequency
- SuperPi 32M @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
- Geekbench 3 @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
- 7-Zip @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
- PYPrime @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
- 3DMark11 Physics @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
* In the case of a tie, the highest DDR5 memory frequency is the tie-breaker.
Grand Final Stage Benchmarks
For the Grand Final Stage of the OC World Cup 2024, each of the 3 top finalists will compete with the following 5 benchmarks.
- G.SKILL’s choice Benchmark
- Event judge's choice Benchmark
- Contestant A’s choice Benchmark @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
- Contestant B’s choice Benchmark @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
- Contestant C’s choice Benchmark @ 7GHz CPU Cores, 6GHz Uncore
* In the case of a tie, the highest DDR5 memory frequency is the tie-breaker.
For the contestant’s choice benchmarks, it must be a valid 2D benchmark listed on HWBOT with fixed CPU frequency and approved by the OC World Cup 2024 event judges.
The Grand Final Stage will be held on June 7, 2024 and will conclude at 14:30, followed by an award ceremony. We welcome anyone who are passionate or interested about extreme overclocking to join us at Computex and witness a historical overclocking championship battle.
Competition Hardware
All OC World Cup 2024 contestants are limited to using G.SKILL DDR5 memory kits provided by G.SKILL specifically for the overclocking competition event, using 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors with a maximum of 8 cores enabled (no Hyper-Threading), and Intel Z690/Z790 chipset motherboards for the competition benchmarks.
