EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today has launched a new software brand, VisionCore, as part of its strategy to expand its product portfolio for industrial markets. The VisionCore brand debuts with two software products: VisionCore FCS, a file conversion and image processing software, and VisionCore FCS Viewer, an imaging viewer and editing software.
VisionCore is a suite of software products designed to leverage video technology in conjunction with EIZO’s hardware solutions, such as the DuraVision industrial series. This brand enhances the EIZO Visual System (EVS) solutions portfolio by addressing evolving market challenges that require a combination of advanced technologies, such as AI-driven analytics, and comprehensive data collection and analysis to improve efficiency and alleviate operator workload in video-based visual inspection.
Clear visibility in captured video is crucial for applications centered on visual inspection, such as infrastructure monitoring and post-incident investigation. VisionCore FCS is an image optimization software solution that enhances difficult-to-see areas in captured video, making them clearer and easier to interpret during human-centric inspections. It also boosts detection rates in AI-enhanced systems, ensuring more accurate and efficient video analysis. EIZO’s patented image processing technology analyzes and adjusts each pixel in low-visibility images, such as dark or bright regions, fog, haze, or other visual obstructions. This results in images with greater visibility than what the naked eye can perceive, facilitating streamlined inspection processes in environments that require high visual clarity.
VisionCore FCS is resolution agnostic, allowing it to process video files at any resolution, including high-resolution. It supports file input and output for H.264, MPEG2, and HEVC formats. Using GPU (graphics processing unit) acceleration, the software delivers high-speed conversion processing, enabling users to convert file formats, framerates, and aspect ratios flexibly and efficiently.
The software’s watch folder function enables automatic processing of images in conjunction with external systems. It continuously monitors user-specified folders, automatically performing encoding and image enhancement when files are added. The processed files are then saved to the designated folder or FTP server. Users can assign multiple encoding settings, allowing various formats to be created from a single video source without altering the original data.
The separate VisionCore FCS Viewer software allows users to play back and view videos both before and after image enhancement is performed using VisionCore FCS. The timeline in the editing screen enables users to intuitive select portions of the video and to generate enhanced clips, providing a comprehensive solution for video viewing and editing.
As the first in a series of upcoming software solutions, VisionCore FCS and VisionCore FCS Viewer tackle the challenges of efficiently and effectively interpreting captured video, where visibility is of utmost priority.
