Powered by AMD Ryzen™ AI Embedded X100 series processors and AMD Versal™ AI Edge Series Gen2 adaptive SoCs, EDGE+ RAVE2-MAX delivers greater x86 scalar, graphics and AI compute whilst maintaining the existing sensor fusion, AI inferencing and deterministic control capabilities of the existing RAVE2-CORE and PRO systems. for automotive and autonomous systems as a compact Flex-ATX platform or complete embedded system.

SAPPHIRE Technology unveils EDGE+ RAVE2 MAX, the flagship member of its EDGE+ RAVE2 family, available as both a Flex-ATX platform and complete embedded system for physical AI applications. Powered by AMD Embedded+ architecture, RAVE2 MAX combines an AMD Ryzen™ Embedded X100 processor with an AMD Versal™ AI Edge Series Gen2 adaptive SoC to provide a production-ready foundation for automotive AI, autonomous mobility, machine vision and industrial systems.

Extending the EDGE+ RAVE2 portfolio, RAVE2 MAX adds greater compute performance and memory capacity while maintaining a common hardware architecture and software foundation across the product family. The platform has been showcased AMD Advancing AI 2026 in San Francisco.

Purpose Built for Sensor-Rich Automotive AI

Available as either a complete embedded system or Flex-ATX platform, EDGE+ RAVE2 MAX is purpose built for autonomous applications including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, robotaxis, autonomous mobile robots and off-highway commercial vehicles. With 12 GMSL2 camera ports and dual CAN Bus interfaces, it provides the connectivity needed for surround-camera perception and in-vehicle networking straight out of the box.

Powered by AMD Embedded+ architecture, EDGE+ RAVE2 MAX combines x86 processing, integrated AMD Radeon™ graphics and adaptive computing to accelerate sensor fusion, AI inference, deterministic control and 4K visualization. The AMD Ryzen™ Embedded X100 Series processor handles general-purpose compute, graphics and human-machine interface workloads, while the AMD Versal™ AI Edge Series Gen2 adaptive SoC provides programmable I/O, FPGA fabric and AI Engines for deterministic, low-latency processing.

This heterogeneous architecture enables developers to consolidate sensor fusion, AI inference, vehicle networking and visualization onto a single validated platform while processing data with minimal latency.

"With EDGE+ RAVE2 MAX, we set out to give automotive and physical AI developers the most capable Embedded+ solution we've built—delivering the compute headroom, multi-camera sensor connectivity and AI acceleration they need in either a compact Flex-ATX- platform or complete embedded system," said Paul Smith, Senior Director, SAPPHIRE Embedded Solutions. "By combining an AMD Ryzen™ Embedded X100 series processor with AMD Versal™ AI Edge Series Gen2, EDGE+ RAVE2 MAX helps customers replace complex multi-board designs with a single validated platform and bring sensor-rich automotive AI systems to market faster."

“Physical AI systems require a flexible compute architecture that can scale across performance levels while supporting sensor processing, AI inference, deterministic control and visualization,” said Simon George, Director of Embedded Systems, Physical AI, AMD. “The EDGE+ RAVE2 family demonstrates how AMD Ryzen AI Embedded processors and Versal AI Edge Series Gen 2 adaptive SoCs can provide a common platform that helps developers consolidate complex workloads and accelerate the deployment of automotive, mobility and industrial AI systems. We are pleased to collaborate with SAPPHIRE Technology to extend this approach with the flagship RAVE2 MAX platform.”

Extending the EDGE+ RAVE2 Family

EDGE+ RAVE2 MAX extends the EDGE+ RAVE2 portfolio with increased compute and memory capacity for the most demanding automotive workloads. Together, the RAVE2 Core, RAVE2 Pro and RAVE2 MAX platforms share a common Embedded+ architecture and software foundation, enabling software reuse while scaling from mainstream edge AI applications to high-channel count perception and multi-model AI inferencing.
