Taipei, Taiwan, August 29,  2013 – QNAP^® Security today launched new business-class  4-bay, 1U rackmount VioStor NVR VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series, available in 8, 12 and  16 channels featuring high reliability. Powered by Dual-core Intel^® processor and 4GB DDR3 memory, the new  series deliver quality performance with up to 250 Mbps throughput to ensure steady  recording of multiple megapixel IP cameras. Moreover, the HDMI output and  hardware decoder provide the ability to deliver up to 200fps Full HD local  display.         

The VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series  support up to 16TB raw storage capacity to accommodate high quality H.264,  MPEG-4, M-JPEG, and MxPEG video recording. “The VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series satisfy  the requirements of SMB users who desire high performance network video  recorders coupled with excellent reliability and features,” said Amily Fang,  product manager of QNAP Security. “The VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series delivers quality  performance coupled with abundant features for small to medium-scale  surveillance tasks.”         

Featuring VioStor NVR  firmware v4.1.0, the VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series support smart recording, storage  expansion, and multi-stream function. The smart recording effectively avoids the  constant storage consumption at all time, but achieves greater storage  efficiency and boost recording quality when alarm events happen. By installing the ‘StorageExpansion’ app (QPKG) on the Turbo  NAS, administrators can connect the VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series with the Turbo NAS  via network to flexibly enlarge the total storage capacity of VioStor NVR. The  multi-stream support enables administrators to flexibly define multiple video streams (supported by  specific camera models) according to bandwidth resources and number of  live-view channels.         

The VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series  provide professional features for business environments, including fisheye  dewarping function, multi-server monitoring, advanced event management, and  more. The fisheye dewarping function is supported for specific fisheye cameras  and cameras with panomorph lens on handling remote monitoring, playback and  local display. Multi-server monitoring enables users to connect multiple  VioStor NVRs and monitor up to 128 IP cameras with one browser on remote  computers. Advanced event management enables administrators to set 5 types of  alarm event, and the system will respond with assigned event actions when an  event is triggered, keeping administrators stay alerted immediately.         

The VS-4100U-RP Pro+ series  support Windows and Mac platforms with QNAP’s Surveillance Client software for  Windows^® and for Mac^®,  and the VMobile surveillance app for iOS^®, Android™ and Windows  Mobile 6.1 to 6.5 devices. Users can manage the VioStor NVR via the web-based  administration interface using Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer or  Mozilla Firefox browsers, or monitor linked IP cameras by mobile devices anytime  and anywhere on the go.         

The VioStor NVR is now  compatible with over 2,100 IP camera models of various popular brands, offering  businesses high flexibility in deploying an ideal surveillance solution.
