Acer will unveil at IFA 2013 the new 10.1-inch Iconia A3 Android-based tablet with an enhanced cinematic experience; the new Liquid S2 smartphone, Acer’s first smartphone with 4K recording; and the refreshed Ezel™ hinged Aspire R7 notebook with new touch apps and the new Acer Active Pen for more precise touch control.
Continuing to focus on offering a more intuitive and natural user experience, Acer devices feature full Touch & Type duality — the best productivity and content consumption mix. At Acer’s IFA booth visitors will see a range of touch and type devices, as well as areas dedicated to touch, education, and gaming.
“Acer’s Progressive Design approach is demonstrated through our constant drive to create a more open and rewarding multitasking experience,” said Michael Birkin, Chief Marketing Officer at Acer. “We will continue to introduce both new and refreshed products that achieve the ultimate goal of enabling our customers to Explore Beyond Limits.”
Iconia A3 Tablet
The Iconia A3 tablet is designed to provide a richer entertainment, multimedia, gaming, and web experience. Movie and music lovers will find this tablet to be a perfect companion with immersive sound, wide viewing angles and quad-core performance.
This Android-based tablet comes with Dolby® Digital Plus™, creating a virtualized 5.1 channel surround experience over headphones, reduced background noise and volume boost for clear dialogues and consistent volume levels.
The 10.1-inch WXGA display (1280 x 800) with IPS technology offers crisp and accurate colors from wide viewing angles for a better visual experience. Powered with a quad-core 1.2GHz cortex A7 processor, the Iconia A3 delivers 11 hours of smooth HD video playback, better mobile gaming, as well as fluid and fast navigation through apps and websites.
The Iconia A3 also debuts Acer’s IntelliSpin technology that expands the tablet’s screen image rotation feature, so even when lying flat, the screen image will rotate to match the user’s orientation when turned.
Liquid S2 Smartphone
This high-performance and ultra-multimedia smartphone is Acer’s first smartphone with 4K Ultra HD recording capability. Built with a 6-inch full HD screen with IPS technology, extremely fast connectivity including 4G LTE and the new Wi-Fi 802.11 ac standard, it is also the world’s first smartphone with dual speakers powered by Dolby® Digital Plus™ for a stunning sound experience.
The Liquid S2 is designed with soft curves, a striking red metal receiver mesh and metallic ring highlighting the 4 LED ring flash for low light and macro capturing. The curved glass surface creates an edgeless feel around the rim, while the use of Gorilla Glass® 3.0 boasts native damage resistance, making it stronger and more resistant to scratches from daily usage. Furthermore, Zero Air Gap Display removes the air between the touch panel and LCD module which thereby provides improved tactile sense and reduced reflection boosting readability even in sunlight.
The Liquid S2 comes loaded with several camera enhancements including BSI Sensors and LED Ring Flash for sharper pictures, even in low light environments; “Favorite” Mode which lets users create up to five profiles with customized effects, flash, capture modes and scenes; and Exposure Control with one finger focus and exposure adjustment for clear and bright shots.
Aspire R7-572 Notebook
The first Aspire R7 launched in May as a revolutionary notebook that defined the Touch and Type experience with its Ezel™ hinge that allows four modes of operation: a traditional notebook; a table top pad; a touch display; and the unique “Ezel™” mode, allowing the screen to float over the keyboard at various angles. Running on Windows 8.1, the refreshed Aspire R7-572 is equipped with an Acer Active Pen and features a set of Acer Touch Tools apps that make the most of the unique touch experience.
Acer Active Pen lets users enjoy greater accuracy and comfort when writing and drawing. With N-trig DuoSense®, this active stylus uses electromagnetic induction technology and responds to varying degrees of pressure sensitivity like an actual pen, resulting in a greater range of pen strokes and more natural writing. The Acer Active Pen can be used with gesture controls at the same time, so customers can, for example, resize a picture with a pinching gesture and adjust fine details with the pen.
Acer Touch Tools apps feature the Acer MemoryBinder that enables users to put cherished memories together by arranging photos, add realistic paint brush effects, and tell a story with personal messages. Acer Screen Grasp allows any image to be easily captured, personalized and shared to social networks or pasted to documents. Acer Scrapboard makes it easy to collect images and ideas from the web for reference or share. Acer AccuFinger is designed to help users acquire tiny items on the screen more accurately when using their fingers.
