tobii Tobii Technology, a world leader in eye tracking and gaze interaction, has partnered with Dell OEM Solutions to launch the Tobii EyeMobile, an integration of its life-changing Eye Tracking technology onto a tablet platform. People with physical disabilities can carry out everyday tasks such as accessing the internet, using social media, calling their families, watching movies, checking bus time tables etc - in short accessing the full power of modern tablets and computers. Users can take this technology with them almost wherever they go, allowing them to live richer, better connected and more independent lives.

Oscar Werner, president of Tobii Assistive Technology comments: “The Tobii EyeMobile is so powerful because it will enable millions of people with physical disabilities to live more independently, engage with others via internet and social media, and even get back to work and attend education programs.”
Following the launch of Tobii’s second-generation PCEye Go eye tracker in March 2013, the company has chosen to partner with Dell OEM Solutions to integrate its product on to the Dell Latitude 10 tablet with Intel® Clover Trail™ Atom Dual Core, 1.8Ghz alongside Dell ProSupport. Taking advantage of Dell OEM’s global reach and end-to-end capabilities, Tobii can provide a tested, standards-based platform to customers who need reliable, mobile solutions with seamless global support. Dell ProSupport for OEM also means that Tobii EyeMobile users have next-day home support (for the tablet) if they experience any hardware problems.
“Providing full 24/7 access to a modern tablet to people with, for example, spinal cord injuries, has the potential to reduce care cost as well as improve their lives. We encourage researchers and care providers to closely evaluate the Tobii EyeMobile as it opens up avenues that were previously not available to this group of people,” comments Oscar Werner. “We decided to partner with Dell OEM Solutions not only for its support package but more specifically the battery life of the Latitude tablet. With the eye tracker running, the battery lasts for eight or nine hours even when streaming video, using WiFi and alternating brightness. The removable battery means that users can swap batteries when they’re out and about, further increasing running time.”

Tobii is pioneering the use of eye tracking by regular computer users and has pre-announced the first full-fledged consumer device to be launched by the end of 2013. It has a broad range of users who take advantage of its
revolutionary eye tracking technology including companies that develop adverts, websites or games and want to study and analyse what areas of the graphic their audience focuses on. The same technology also plays a huge role in providing people with physical disabilities the ability to control a computer with their eyes instead of a keyboard or mouse.
For more than 15 years, Dell OEM Solutions has helped over 2,000 global customers in 40 vertical markets accelerate their time to market with customizable tier one OEM technologies. Demand for Dell OEM solutions, particularly mobile technologies, has surged due to growing needs for solutions that meet standardization, compliance, management and security requirements.
