Addressing an audience of more than 1500 professionals, Mustafa presented a compelling case study demonstrating the nuances of the partnership. During his presentation, Mustafa discussed the evolution of the relationship between du and Huawei, in which two like-minded partners are nurturing innovation within the telecommunications industry. The relationship was transformed from classic approach of global supplier/network operator relation, into a corporate level collaboration in creating solutions and researching improvements in project management domains culminated in a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) being signed in March 2013.

Through this MoU, du and Huawei will continue to expand on their relationship, which will include commercialisation of project management as a solution based service, PMO managed services, eneral project management domains and big data research, and mutual knowledge exchange visits. Another benefit of the MoU was the establishment of the Project Management Executive Forum (PMEF), the first forum of its kind which aims to provide executives with the right project management tools for them to undertake better decisions on projects.

"Our collaboration with Huawei is groundbreaking in many ways, and the continual growth of our partnership will lead to even bigger, more exciting initiatives in the future," said Mustafa. "I would like to thank Huawei and the PMI China chapter for inviting me to speak at the Congress, to share the details of our partnership journey so far."
