Dorsten, 26 June 2012 – Display specialist AOC has successfully strenghtened its position amongst the leading monitor providers. Despite a shrinking European market, AOC was able to consolidate its rank amongst the top ten suppliers during the first quarter 2012 in Europe. In some countries even a considerable growth could be noted. Due to the economic crisis in southern European countries, consumers and companies altogether bought reluctantly, thus hampering back the otherwise good sales for AOC as well as for many of the competitors.
In France, AOC achieved an outstanding result. Over 46,000* units were sold in the first quarter – a 30 % increase in the year-to-year comparison (Q1/2011 – Q1/2012) and the best quarterly performance in AOC’s history in France. Sales figures doubled within two years, advancing AOC to position seven in the French market.
In the year-to-year comparison in Poland as well as Germany, sales increased slightly. In the dynamic Polish monitor market, AOC ranked sixth after the first quarter in 2012.
Despite the economic crisis, the sales team in Spain increased their business by 25 % compared to the preceding quarter. AOC thus takes the eighth position in Spain after Q1/2012.
With over 76,000 units sold in the first quarter, AOC registered an all-time sales record in Russia in 2012. Now ranking seventh, the AOC market share rose to 5.5 %. In the year-to-year comparison (Q1/2011 – Q1/2012), this almost equals a tripling of sales figures.
Another success could be reported from Norway. During the first quarter, AOC managed to enter the top five of the display market with a share of just under 7 %.
