Sony is announcing the introduction of a new line-up of nine 4K HDR BRAVIA Professional Displays, combining ultimate picture quality with the best professional features. The XE8 and XE9 series displays offer elegant, slim and simple design with exceptional detail, colour and contrast. Following customer feedback the new XE9 models are also the first BRAVIA displays to include a 24/7 feature, making them ideal for retail environments, airports and surveillance applications.
Sony has the largest market share for 4K B2B displays in Europe1 and continues to demonstrate its leadership by being the first to offer only 4K displays to the professional market. Where previously price has been a barrier to moving to 4K, Sony is delivering all its new XE8 models at the same price as its now discontinued Full HD models. “As the demand for larger screens within retail, corporate and education environments continues to grow, the need for higher resolutions has never been greater,” said Thomas Issa, Product Manager for B2B Displays at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “We wanted to make 4K accessible to our customers, so they don’t have to compromise on image quality today, and can future-proof their technology investments for tomorrow.”
Every detail brought to life The 4K HDR Professional Displays offer incredibly lifelike images, combining brightness with brilliant highlights and fine detail, making them ideal for digital signage. Images appear completely natural, with great levels of colour in every scene thanks to Sony’s most powerful 4K picture processing technology ever, the 4K HDR Processor X1 with Object-based HDR remaster and Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR technology. All models also include TRILUMINOS™ technology, further enhancing colour accuracy, for vibrant, expanded colours. The displays offer new levels of brightness, with the XE9 series models delivering brightness of 560-650 cd/m², in comparison to 400-450 cd/m² for the previous XD8 models.
Best-in-class professional features As well as delivering the image quality of consumer displays, the new BRAVIA B2B models have been specifically developed with professional environments in mind. They offer the variety and flexibility to meet the needs of a range of applications and are easy to set up and configure. Every feature, from start-up app settings to initial input source can be completely customised with several options to choose from.
The XE8 series is available in 75”, 65”, 55”, 49” and 43” while the XE9 series is available in 75”, 65”, 55” and 49” sizes. All displays can be used in both portrait and landscape as standard, and can also be transformed into interactive touchscreens by using an optional overlay that deliver responsive, accurate multi-touch performance. The brand new designs are made from high-end aluminium and feature an ultra slim form factor, sleek rear design and clean cable management, for table-top mounts. All models are built for reliability in high usage professional environments and can be warrantied for usage up to 24h per day, seven days a week.
Retaining the best of the former line-up The new line-up retains some of the most popular features and built-in solutions of previous BRAVIA models, ensuring they continue to cater for a range of customer needs, and can be easily used for a wide range of corporate applications to meet customer needs across the workplace. Flexible connectivity for Android and Google Cast options remain, and the displays include a built-in control system and remote control via IP and RS232C, for easy management. The built in digital signage platform includes the easy to use TDM Digital Signage feature, which gives users the tools to create interactive and action based signage. Built-in meeting-room solutions include specialised meeting room interfaces, and a smart automation system changes preferences automatically based on different inputs.
“With these new models, we now have Sony’s strongest BRAVIA line-up to date,” concluded Thomas Issa. “These displays deliver real value for money, combining 4K image quality with the power and flexibility needed to captivate audiences in corporate and education environments, as well as across a range of other applications.”
The new XE9 models are available now and the XE8 models will be available from June 2017. For more information on Sony’s range of new BRAVIA Professional Displays, visit the Sony website here.
