Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, and Russian operator YOTA Networks today announced the successful launch of the world's first LTE-Advanced commercial LTE network in Moscow.
YOTA Networks is committed to providing its customers with the fastest and highest quality mobile broadband (MBB) internet experience in Russia. To retain its position as an industry leader in mobile broadband, YOTA Networks selected Huawei as its technology partner to provide MBB-based services powered by a next-generation LTE network.
For the project, Huawei modernized its cutting-edge, end-to-end SingleRAN LTE/EPC solution for LTE-Advanced (in terms of 3GPP rev10) to deliver excellent performance for YOTA's mobile broadband network. The solution features Carrier Aggregation technology, which provides downlink peak rates of up to 300Mbps, depending on the capacity of the radio channel.
Sergey Varyukhin (Сергей Варюхин), Key Account Department Vice President for Huawei in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Armenia, said: “We are proud to be selected as a partner of YOTA Networks and we fully intend to support YOTA in the launch of their most advanced services yet. To date, Huawei has realized a large number of commercial LTE projects across many countries, and the launch of the first test LTE-A network in Moscow is a major step in the development of mobile broadband access markets around the world.”
Huawei has secured over 110 commercial LTE/EPC contracts and launched 51 commercial LTE networks for numerous leading global operators, more than any other network infrastructure provider. With a global business footprint spanning six continents, Huawei is driving the development and commercialization of LTE worldwide.
