INTRODUCTION
Whether I’m on the treadmill or on foot going someplace not particularly far away i always like to listen to music and that's something I’ve liked as far back as i can remember. Of course since Bluetooth wireless technology wasn't always as reliable and didn't offer the audio quality it does today (battery life of wireless headphones wasn't that great either) up until 2012 i was using wired headphones to do that. Since 2013 I’ve gone through several wireless models (even broke some pairs as well due to them not being sweat-resistant) but it wasn't until rather recently that i came across some models which could actually match the audio quality (well almost) and durability i was getting from my wired models (battery life is still an serious issue in comparison but at least for now that can't be helped). Among those models is the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones by 1MORE which I’ve been testing for well over a month now.
1MORE was born with a profound mission: Music lovers, young or old, frugal or affluent, deserve to hear music as it was meant to be heard, as the artist intended it to be heard. Music lovers deserve to HEAR MORE. 1MORE offers MORE by transcending industry standards through revolutionary innovation, design and quality. Nothing should come between you and your music, for the goal of any great technology is to disappear. Through scrupulous engineering, streamlined manufacturing, and authentic marketing we provide a level of affordable luxury that no other brand can. There is a mountain of headphones brands. 1MORE isn't simply climbing that mountain. We are turning it upside down so everyone can reach the peak. 1MORE is globally distributed brand that has set up off-line channels in 25 provinces, more than 40 Hi-Fi audio reps, 3 Apple authorized chain store systems, and more than 3,000 brick and mortar stores in mainland China. 1MORE is also expanding rapidly into overseas markets. Our channels reach 26 countries and regions, including USA, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Australia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Vietnam.
As clearly stated by its name the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones by 1MORE are a combination of their award winning Triple Driver In-Ear Headphones and a Bluetooth wireless receiver located inside an ergonomic neckband made out of soft silicone. The triple-driver in-ear headphones feature two balanced armature drivers and a single separate dynamic driver (20Hz-40KHz frequency response with 32Ohm impedance) made out of aerospace-grade metal in each of the two aluminum/metal housings whereas for wireless connectivity 1MORE has used a Bluetooth v4.2 chip (A2DP/AVRCP/HFP) which fully supports both the LDAC (lossless, up to 990kbit/s at 24bit/96kHz) and AAC hi-res codecs (16bit/48KHz - since LDAC is not "currently" compatible with iOS devices using ACC was the next best thing). In terms of battery life the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones by 1MORE feature a rechargeable lithium-ion pack which can offer a total of 7 hours playback time (requires just 1 hour for a full recharge and 10 minutes for 2 hours of playback). The device also has a built-in microphone (complete with environmental noise cancellation technology) and several playback controls all located on the left side of the ergonomic neckband which thanks to a memory steel wire (remembers its form) can be folded for easier storing.
SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
PACKAGING AND CONTENTS
1MORE ships the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones inside a white box that has a partial product picture at the front right next to their logo and the Hi-Res logo.
The box is magnetically closed and as you can see the metal plate on the right side has the company logo on it.
A few words about the product are printed at the rear of the box right over the specifications table.
As usual the front of the box opens up like a box to reveal both the product and a few drawings (some of those are probably the initial ones).
Inside the box you will find the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones, carbon-like PU carrying pouch, piece of cardboard with 8 sets of ear tips, USB to USB type-C charging cable, 1MORE sticker, warranty information paper and the user manual.
THE TRIPLE DRIVER BT
1MORE bundles a total of 8 extra sets of ear tips (6 made out of silicone and 3 out of foam) so you don't have to worry about whether or not these will fit perfectly.
Neckband Bluetooth in-ear headphones have been around for a couple of years now and i can't say i ever liked them much but they do provide extra stability and battery so design comes after those.
The company logo is printed on the exterior of the neckband on both ends as seen above.
As mentioned in the introduction page all of the controls (along with the microphone, LED indicator and left/right markings) are located on the left side of the neckband so here we have the play-pause/next-previous track/answer-end call button, volume up/down button and the power on/off button.
The USB type-C charging port is located at the end of the left side and is covered by a plastic cap.
Most of the neckband is made out of soft silicon thus allowing the end user to fold it for easier storing/transport.
The angled aluminum/metal housings of the Triple Driver In-Ear Headphones also feature left and right markings and the company logo.
No matter which part of the Triple Driver In-Ear Headphones we check quality is pretty much excellent (the dual armature drivers with the separate dynamic driver should also produce very good audio accuracy and detail).
CONCLUSION
The Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones are based on the award winning Triple Driver In-Ear Headphones 1MORE released back in 2016 a model which as already pointed out we never had the chance to test (we still can but 2+ years later it wouldn't make much sense). Because of that i had no idea of what to expect so when the BT version arrived here i was expecting mediocre performance much like with most BT earphones up to that price range. Fortunately i was wrong and so the very first BT model by 1MORE can produce very good mids and highs with a good amount of bass (far more than most wireless earbuds). Of course things get even better when you pair the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones with a compatible LDAC player like the M7 by FiiO which we reviewed a couple of weeks ago. As a matter of fact the difference in audio quality when listening to lossless formats is so big that currently the M7/Triple Driver BT set is what I’m using when on the treadmill or on foot. If getting a dedicated music player however sounds way too much for you then you should be glad to know that your next smartphone could also feature LDAC since SONY came to an agreement with Google to provide support for it from v8.0 of the Android OS and above (still your smartphone will also need a compatible LDAC chip). 1MORE claims that the Triple Driver BT has a playback life of up to 7 hours and although they aren't that far off (during tests with the volume almost at max i did manage to hit 6+ hours) you do need to keep in mind that such results are recorded with the volume set at 50% if not less. As for the built-in microphone it was better than what we’d hoped (probably to it being located right next to your face) so kudos to 1MORE for that. Although the Triple Driver BT just won the Red Dot design award for 2018 its design/size may be the only thing that could drive away potential customers but for consumers who place audio quality, battery life and stability above all else these shouldn't be an issue.
1MORE currently has a sale on their products so you can grab the Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones for just USD99.98 inside the USA (Amazon - our recommendation is to grab it as supplies last) and for 133Euros inside the EU (Amazon UK). Granted although the price for all our friends on the other side of the Atlantic is a steal the same doesn't apply for the current EU price and so we do hope 1MORE can take steps to "resolve" that. With that out of the way even at 133Euros the Triple Driver BT is a catch and so if you're out in the market for a high-quality BT set which will most certainly keep you company for many years to come (due to its LDAC and AAC Hi-Res support) you really can't go wrong with this specific model and that's why it gets our Golden Award.
