dreame t30 review a

Even though both my house and office are quite clean most of the time i do have one extremely serious problem, pet hair. This is no secret really, it's honestly one of the main reasons (aside some of you asking) i started testing robot and cordless vacuum cleaners and years later i can only say I'm very glad i did. Not only do i have more free time in my hands right now (not that it's a lot but more than before) but pet hair is not nearly the problem it once was. Still since i can effectively test such products and also because i know first-hand just how fast technology advances in the electronics area I’m always open in reviewing such products, especially the very popular ones. Clearly one such product is the T30 Cordless Vacuum by Dreame which was delivered to the lab just over a month ago.

Dreame Technology, established in 2017, is an innovative company with the vision to "enhance the living quality of global users". The Company focus on high-end cleaning appliances by leveraging astrodynamics technologies. At the end of 2017, Dreame joined the Xiaomi Ecological Chain, as the driving force and leading enterprise of smart household cleaning appliances. After years of hard work, Dreame has come up with a series of core inventions and over 150 core patents, such as the high-speed motor, monocular machine vision, SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) and the multi-cone cyclone separation, among which multiple patents are in a global leading position.

The T30 is not only among the last models to be released by Dreame but it's also one of their most powerful ones thanks to its 550W brushless motor which can spin up to 150.000 RPM to produce up to 27.000Pa (190AW) of suction power. Of course being one of Dreame's top-end models the T30 also features a small color LCD screen (mode, battery life and dust level display), 4 suction modes (auto/eco/medium/turbo), 600ml removable dust cup, 5-level filtration system (cleans up to 99.96% of particles), cyclone self-cleaning system (removes up to 99.97% of dust from the air), 8-layer noise reduction system, 4 brushes, LED nozzle tip, carbon fiber rod and a removable 2750mAh (81.4W) lithium-polymer battery pack (8 cells) which can power the T30 continuously for up to 90 minutes (in eco mode). The Dreame T30 certainly looks like it can take on the X30 Pro model by ROIDMI so let's move forward with today’s review.

SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS

dreame t30 review 1t

Dreame uses a large black box with a partial product picture, their logo and the main product features at the front.

The main product features are showcased on the right side.

A full product picture is located at the rear of the box.

All of the bundle is wrapped inside synthetic bags and placed inside pieces of cardboard.

Aside the main body of the T30 and its carbon fiber rod inside the box you’ll also find a v-roller brush, mini electric brush, soft brush, 2 in 1 brush, LED nozzle tip, extension hose, flexible adapter, 2 in 1 charging and storage base, power adapter, maintenance tips paper, warranty information paper, charging base drilling template and the user manual.

THE T30

dreame t30 review 6t

Dreame has chosen light grey/silver for the main body of the T30 and i believe that it's a much more balanced color for smart oriented homes that for example white.

At the top we find the company logo and a sticker revealing its meaning.

A gun like handle with a red trigger is located at the rear of the vacuum.

Here we also find the color LCD screen, lock and suction mode buttons, charging port and the removable lithium-polymer battery.

Cleaning the T30 is very easy, just remove the cup and take it apart as seen above.

The 68cm long stick/rod is made out of carbon fiber so it's not only very light but also very durable.

The main v-roller is not something we haven’t seen in the past with other cordless vacuum sticks (also lacks LED lights). The roller brush inside on the other hand is one of the highest quality ones I’ve seen to date.

Same with the mini electric brush, again something we’ve seen quite a few times in the past. In terms of quality its roller brush is just ok.

Both the extension hose and the flexible adapter are very convenient tools that allow the end user to clean hard to reach areas.

Top to bottom the T30 measures roughly 125cm.

The wall mountable charging/storage base is made out of plastic which doesn’t really stand out (perhaps that was the entire idea) and aside the main body of the T30 you can attach all extras but 1 brush on it.

The color LCD screen is very easy to read even tells you the remaining battery life of each mode both in % and minutes (quite accurate also).

TEST RESULTS

battery

Just like with robot vacuums all cordless handheld vacuum models will be thoroughly tested (for a duration of at least 20 days) to properly and accurately record/measure total battery life (using just the corner nozzle/flat suction tip for cordless vacuum sticks) and noise levels (from around 50cm distance using the ExTech HD600 dBA meter) in all available modes.

CONCLUSION

dreame t30 review b

Two things i need to point out before i go into detail about the T30, first that i tested its battery levels without the nozzle tip (has a LED at the front so since it obviously uses a small amount of battery i felt i wouldn't be a fair comparison with other cordless vacuums) and 2nd that i used its eco, medium and turbo suction modes for my tests (not auto since it changes suction power based on floor type and dirt). So how did it do during the almost 1 month i tested it for? Suction power is slightly superior to that of the ROIDMI X30 Pro model and clearly more than any other cordless vacuum stick I’ve reviewed to date so that alone says a lot about what Dreame focused on when developing the T30. Build quality is also very good, yes, most of the body is made out of plastic but it looks and feels very nice (with the exception of the mini electric brush) as does the carbon fiber stick/rod and the LED nozzle tip. What actually surprised me quite a bit was the battery life accuracy indicated on the rear LCD screen. As you can see in the charts i measured 7, 37 and 87 minutes in eco, medium and turbo modes while the LCD screen (and the specs sheet) indicated 7.5, 35 and 90 minutes. For good or bad Dreame doesn't offer an android/iOS app for the T30 but honestly, I don’t really think it’s a necessary addition for cordless vacuum sticks (yes, looks nice and many people would like that but at the same time it’s also a feature which results in reduced runtime).

At the time of my review the T30 Cordless Vacuum by Dreame retails for no less than USD529.99 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 429.99Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) a price tag which is slightly inflated due to what’s happening in the world right now. Price aside however the T30 is one of the best cordless vacuum sticks money can buy today, not just due to its powerful suction power and high build quality but also because of its rich bundle and many features and that’s clearly why it gets the Golden Award.
