CONCLUSION
After having tested a very large number of powerbanks (portable batteries) whenever a new model arrived in our lab we always hope to see new and innovative technologies and/or features something which unfortunately hasn't happened in quite a while. So does the DISCOVER 17.000mAh fit that description? Well the answer is perhaps since it does have a USB type C port (we just started seeing those), supports Quick Charge 3.0 (although 4.0 is already available 3.0 is more widely available and we have quite a few mobile devices that support it) and features a nice rubber coating on both its top and bottom. These of course are not groundbreaking features and we have seen them before but since they are not widely available the DISCOVER 17.000mAh is far from your average powerbank. Moving to battery capacity as expected the XB202 doesn't deliver 17.000mAh and so after using it for 2 weeks and testing it with several mobile devices our sample (battery cells are never 100% identical) seems to deliver anywhere between 12.500-14.000mAh a number which is by no means small and should provide up to 5-6 full charges for most current smartphones.
Xtorm makes some of the best powerbanks in the market so it's only normal that they are not what most people would consider extremely affordable. So currently you can find the XB202 DISCOVER 17.000mAh model for USD110.11 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 76Euros inside the EU (Amazon.co.uk) a price tag which actually lands it very close to other models with support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0/4.0 technologies (unfortunately since Xtorm is an EU based company the USA pricing for the XB202 is set quite higher than what we were expecting). So in conclusion the XB202 DISCOVER 17.000mAh may not bring anything extraordinary on the table (always compared to for example some solar and notebook models again by Xtorm) but it does feature A-class battery cells which can charge your mobile devices (and up to three of them simultenously) up to 5-6 times and is fully compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 so we can't really deny it our Golden Award.
