CONCLUSION
There are two types of consumers out there, those who buy a RAM kit and run it using its XMP profile at stock speed and those who like to overclock quite a bit. For the first the Viper Steel RGB 32GB 3200MHz kit (PVSR432G320C8K) leaves almost nothing to be desired. Performance is what you’d expect from such a kit (timings are slightly up compared to similar models but that shouldn’t matter to most consumers, at least not for every day performance) and as for looks well pictures speak for themselves. For people who like to overclock everything they get their hands on however this Viper Steel RGB kit may not be ideal. Granted I never want to surpass 1.4V in my reviews since that’s the “safe” limit set by most motherboard manufacturers but even at that i should have been able to hit 3600MHz (which i was able to do once but the system wasn't stable). What did bother me slightly is the lack of “variety” with the Viper Steel RGB series by Patriot since they are only available at two speeds (3200/3600MHz) and with the competition going all the way up to 4400MHz (some even higher) this may look bad to potential buyers looking for something faster.
As I type these lines the Viper Steel RGB 32GB 3200MHz CL18 DDR4 RAM kit (PVSR432G320C8K) retails for USD159.99 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 169.99Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) a price tag which is more or less balanced for such a kit. If you’re looking for a kit designed for based on my results (there’s always a chance that there’s a motherboard incompatibility with the kit tested) this isn’t not the kit for you but if you plan on using the default XMP profile then i highly recommend giving it a chance.
