kingston renegade rgb 96gb ddr5 6400 review b

Even though both in terms of frequency and timings the FURY Renegade RGB 96GB DDR5 kit is the same as the 32GB variant which I reviewed a while back it’s quite clear that the extra amount of RAM does help with certain demanding workloads. At the same time however in today’s charts we see that the new die used to achieve 48GB per module is not quite as fast as the one used with the 16GB modules. Yes, there’s a tiny difference in synthetic performance which in turn translates into an even less difference in real world scenarios but it’s still something I need to point out. The fact that Kingston has also updated their CTRL software to work flawlessly even with my EVGA Z790 DARK and also added 2 extra ARGB LEDs on each DIMM is also good news.

96GB of DDR5 RAM is an large amount clearly aimed towards enthusiasts and professionals and for them spending a total of USD419.99 inside the USA (Newegg.com) and for 574.80Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) should be acceptable (especiall on the other side of the Atlantic). For casual users and even gamers however for who even 32GB should be more than sufficient this will be too much and well, that’s fine too. Amount, performance, overclocking headroom and looks, this FURY Renegade RGB dual-channel kit by Kingston has it all and for that it gets the Golden Award.
