INTRODUCTION

Every upgrade cycle has that one component that instantly changes how a machine behaves, and for most people today, it’s the SSD. The jump from spinning disks to flash storage didn’t just speed things up, it redefined expectations around boot times, transfers, and overall system fluidity. With so many options crowding the shelves, standing out takes more than raw numbers. That’s where KLEVV introduces the CRAS C925G, a model aiming to deliver fast, dependable storage without unnecessary drama.
KLEVV, is a premium brand of Essencore, the major Module and NAND Flash application product vendor. The KLEVV range focused on superior gaming memory modules and solid state drives. KLEVV is committed to delivering world-class products with first-rate quality, and all products are engineered for enthusiasts who are pursuing the best things in life. KLEVV memory/SSD have been recognized by Germany’s Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award for its innovative product designs. For more information, please visit www.klevv.com.
The CRAS C925G line of M.2 PCIe Gen4 SSDs is currently available in 3 capacities (500GB/1TB/2TB) and is based on the MaXio MAP1602A-F3C DRAM-less NAND flash controller which KLEVV has paired with 238-Layer 3D TLC NAND by SK Hynix (ESSENCORE rebranded). The MAP1602-F3C 12nm quad-channel NAND controller by MaXio also packs quite a few features including advanced wear leveling algorithms, Host Memory Buffer (HMB) architecture (uses a fraction of your PC's system memory to cache mapping tables), pseudo SLC cache, bad block management strategy, hardware error-correction, L1.2 ultra-low power state and sudden power-loss protection, TRIM, NCQ, hardware support for AES256/SM4 encryption (this feature however is not always enabled) and support for TCG OPAL2.0. KLEVV covers the entire CRAS C925G line with a 5-year warranty and as for durability they report a TBW of 600/1200/2400 for the 500GB/1TB/2TB capacities respectively.
SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

THE CRAS C925G 2TB
Typically, at the front of the box, we find a product picture, company logo, performance numbers, capacity and the main product features.
The features and specifications are printed at the rear of the box.
Just the CRAS C925G is placed inside the box and as expected it follows the standard M.2280 form factor.
KLEVV has placed a graphene sticker over the components of the CRAS C925G which does help with temperatures.
Removing the graphene sticker reveals the MaXio MAP1602A-F3C NAND controller and two 238-Layer 3D TLC NAND flash modules (there's also room for 2 more).
On the other side we find a sticker with several certifications and the serial number and barcode.

TESTING METHODOLOGY
Not long after I first started testing SSDs back in 2008, I concluded that it's almost impossible for any single benchmark suite to accurately measure their performance and that's why in certain benchmark suites we see amazing read/write performance numbers with some drives while in other things are quite different. The reason behind this is that some benchmarking suites are configured to read and write random chunks of data while others read and write constant (sequential) ones. So that's why i always use a very wide selection of benchmarking suites including AIDA64, HD Tach RW, HD Tune Pro, Crystal Disk Mark, Sisoftware Sandra Pro, AS SSD, IOmeter and ATTO. To get the most accurate results each test gets repeated a total of 6 times with the average performance numbers recorded into the charts. Also, as of February 25th, 2015, our results will also include the Storage Networking Industry Association’s (SNIA) IOMeter tests. These tests include a 12 Hour write test used to “simulate” performance degradation over time and a mixed workload test which basically shows what you can expect when using an SSD continuously for roughly two hours. Unfortunately, due to the time required for these tests they get repeated a total of 3 times and not 6 as the above.
Many people have made inquiries about our charts in the past so once again please do keep in mind that the Charts have the average performance numbers of each drive recorded and not the peak (highest) ones. Also, although every single one of these programs can help potential buyers choose the right drive for their needs you should also remember that from any kind of benchmark up to real world usage the gap is not small (and usually most differences will go unnoticed by most people). All tests were performed in a fresh Windows 10 Pro x64 installation complete with every update up to the date of this review.
* As of January 2025, Gen4 SSDs will be tested on the 13900K/Z790 system while Gen5 SSDs will be tested on the 285K/Z890 system.

CONCLUSION

KLEVV’s use of the MaXio MAP1602A‑F3C controller for the entire CRAS C925G line proves to be a smart choice, delivering stable throughput even when the drive is pushed into sustained workloads. Official ratings of 7400 MB/s sequential reads and 6200–6500 MB/s writes (capacity‑dependent) give it the bandwidth needed for modern gaming and content creation. The 670K–700K random read IOPS and 980K–1,000K random write IOPS translate into snappy real‑world behavior, especially during heavy file operations. Endurance figures up to 2400 TBW reinforce the drive’s durability profile, making the CRAS C925G a reliable long‑term option rather than a short‑burst performer.
Consumers can currently find the CRAS C925G 2TB Gen4 SSD by KLEVV for around USD270 inside the USA and for 246.54Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) so price is a small issue (small since many similar models have climbed in price as of late). Price aside the CRAS C925G 2TB Gen4 SSD by KLEVV delivers both good performance with great durability so the Golden Award is in order.
