Going out to get a brand new gaming chair may sound easy but it's actually not, not when there are countless models in the market by a rather huge number of companies, both old and new. Needless to say, for the majority of users out there who've never owned a gaming chair even entry level models might look as an improvement compared to what they were using before but the truth of the matter is that just like with everything else in the industry not all gaming chairs are created equal. This means that even though you may find several gaming chair models at around the same price point not all of them will be the same and since it's virtually impossible for consumers to know which to choose this is where we come in. GAMDIAS has released quite a few affordable models over the years and today we have one of their latest ones the ZELUS M3 WEAVE.

GAMDIAS Technology was founded in 2012 by a team of gaming enthusiasts envisioning each of our products to contain the distinct characteristics of the gods in Greek Mythology. The first three letters GAM represents the fundamental essence of our drive, thus our slogan “Gaming Art in Motion”; and the latter four words DIAS is the Latin word for god. Lastly, creating a classical golden inverted triangle logo that contains the intent of the king of godsZEUSto represent the unyielding spirit of every gamer. GAMDIAS is a world-renowned global manufacturer of high-quality gaming peripherals and technologies. We specialize in creating premium peripherals, components, and furniture for all gamers, pc enthusiasts, and virtual influencers to excel and perform at their best.

The ZELUS M3 WEAVE is a medium size gaming chair available in grey and black and grey and white colors which as its name suggests features a breathable, high durability (and TB117 certified fire resistant) fabric cover underneath which GAMDIAS has placed high-resilience foam padding and a steel frame for optimal durability (BIFMA certified). Other features include a class-4 gaslift (supports up to 140Kg total - chair weight excluded), 60mm nylon caster wheels, 2D armrests (adjustable height and orientation), 5-star steel base, rail mounted headrest (7cm up/down), lumbar support pillow, height adjustable seat (10cm up/down), backrest adjustment (up to 150 degrees) and tilt function up to 15 degrees. The ZELUS M3 WEAVE may not be the most impressive gaming chair to ever get released by GAMDIAS but it does look nice so let's see just what you can expect from it and whether or not it deserves spending your money on.

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS

Just like with most gaming chairs the ZELUS M3 WEAVE arrived inside a plain cardboard box the front of which has the model name and company logo.

The color selection and box weight and size are printed on both sides.

The bundle is wrapped inside plastic bags and placed between sheets of foam.

First thing to come out of the box was the 5-star steel base followed by the butterfly mechanism and all the mounting screws.

Next was the lumbar support pillow, five 60mm caster wheels, class-4 gaslift and its cover and the side covers.

The backrest, seat, two 2D armrests and the assembly instructions were last.

ASSEMBLY

Typically, i once again started assembling the chair by attaching the 60mm nylon wheels and the class-4 gaslift with its cover onto the 5-star base.

60mm caster wheels may not look as good as 70mm+ ones but they do get the job done.

The seat may not feature many steel bars and straps as other models but it's sufficient.

Both the armrests and the butterfly mechanism require 4 Allen screws.

Once again, we find two holes on each side of the backrest.

After you attach the backrest onto the seat you will need to mount the plastic covers.

With the top of the chair assembled it’s now time to place it onto the class-4 gaslift.

FINISHED LOOKS

The grey and dark grey color combination (with bits of white and black) of the ZELUS M3 WEAVE actually looks nice.

GAMDIAS has placed their logo on the headrest and their name on top left of the backrest (the headrest can move up and down for a total of 7cm).

In terms of quality both the upholstery used and stitching are good, however padding seems a bit lacking, especially on the sides.

The armrests can be raised up to 7cm and rotate left and right as seen above.

Turning the chair around we see that GAMDIAS didn't place their logo at the rear (perhaps it's good that they didn't).

GAMDIAS mentions that the backrest can drop to 150 degrees but that doesn't seem to be the case (so they probably also included the tilt function as many others do).

SCORE

score

Many of you recommended (including some manufacturers) that I place a chart pointing to the pros and cons of each gaming chair that finds its way to the lab. Now of course since there's really no way for me to "benchmark" gaming chairs i decided to rate them based on their size, comfort and quality after using each chair for at least one full week. Size and comfort usually go hand to hand (the larger the chair the more comfortable it usually is - that however also depends on the amount of padding and also the type and quality of the cover) while in terms of quality having tested dozens of models over the past years, i think i have a good idea about that as well. Of course, these scores are based on my personal opinion (always based on the samples i get – isolated/early sample issues are always possible) so do take them with a grain of salt.

CONCLUSION

GAMDIAS is well known for producing affordable PC peripherals and well, the ZELUS M3 WEAVE obviously also follows that philosophy. In terms of build quality (upholstery and frame) the ZELUS M3 WEAVE is actually quite good but clearly far from other gaming chairs like for example the PL4800 by Vertagear which i reviewed a while back (so is its price of course). Design on the other hand is something many people who visited the lab during the 1 full month i was using the ZELUS M3 WEAVE pointed out as being very nice and i also happen to like it. Padding is where things fall a bit short, at least for me. The center of both the seat and the backrest are actually padded sufficiently (wouldn't say no to more of course) but that doesn't apply to the sides and well, after a while that may annoy some people (it did me). Yes, this may sound as nitpicking on my part but i can't avoid pointing out these things, not when i end up using gaming chairs a lot longer than the 1 week stated in the previous page.

As mentioned earlier GAMDIAS focuses a lot in affordable PC peripherals and the ZELUS M3 WEAVE gaming chair is no exception since it currently retails for around 160Euros inside the EU (unfortunately USA availability is close to zero as far as I can say), a price tag which should appeal to most casual consumers. Granted, the ZELUS M3 WEAVE is a rather basic gaming chair but if you also take into account cost it becomes a very tempting choice and for that I strongly recommend checking it out.
