CONCLUSION
The V07W is an affordable 2.4G wireless gaming headset and that as expected is a partial indicator of its overall performance. So, starting with the good the V07W offers good positioning audio (as tested with games like Halo 4, Red Dead Redemption, World Of Warships and Crysis Remastered), good range of up to 6 meters with a concrete wall in between (i also didn't experience any audio disturbance or cut outs during my tests) and quite good mids and highs (not detailed and crisp enough as some other models but good – bass, not so much). So, what about the bad? Well one issue i encountered was with its volume levels which when used wirelessly are extremely low and by low i mean very low. This doesn't happen when using the 3.5mm wired connection but you wouldn't be getting the V07W if you wanted to use it with wires (take into account however that i didn't test the headset with a console, just on two PCs). Another issue is the lack of software. Yes, the headset is plug and play but you should be able to switch between stereo and surround sound output among many other settings. Battery life is also less than stellar with just over 6 hours at maximum volume. Granted 6 hours should be plenty to cover 2-3 game sessions but compared to what we see from the leading manufacturers yes this is nothing to get excited over. Finally the illumination feature of the V07W although better than nothing at all still is way too limited and certainly doesn't look quite as good as some other models.
Affordable products need to be exactly that and with a current price tag set at USD50.99/43Euros the V07W 2.4G wireless gaming headset by EasySMX clearly ticks that box. So even though it does fail to impress with its overall performance it does offer a good price/performance ratio and for that I do recommend checking out, especially since this is the holiday season (could be the perfect Christmas gift to some).
