INTRODUCTION
Between the release of the latest GeForce GTX980/970 cards which currently offer the best price/performance ratio and several price drops announced by NVIDIA for their previous generation cards I’m pretty certain that most of you will be thinking about a graphics card upgrade which will allow you to better experience all the latest and upcoming game titles. Well needless to say but aside good graphics cards you also need the proper gaming peripherals to further enrich your experience and what's more important than a gaming headset if you're not living alone? Now I've said it many times in the past that we always like to know what it is that we're giving away with every single one of our giveaways and so since the only prize we've yet to get our hands on included in our last giveaway with our good friends from Tt eSPORTS is their latest VERTO gaming headset the time has come for us to get close and personal with it.

The VERTO gaming headset is yet another stereo model which makes use of two 40mm neodymium magnet drivers that feature a frequency response of 10Hz-22KHz, 98dB sensitivity (@1KHz) and 32Ohm impedance. A flexible flip-down Omni-directional noise cancelling microphone with a frequency response of 300Hz-10KHz, -35dB (+-3dB) sensitivity and 2.2KOhm impedance is also available. Now although the specifications of the VERTO are quite good and certainly above many other stereo headsets we've gotten our hands onto my only concern is the size of the drivers since in most cases 40mm ones haven't been able to compete with their larger 50mm brothers especially in terms of bass levels. Of course there have been some exceptions to that rule and as always the only way to be certain is to test a headset so let's move forward with our review of the VERTO gaming headset by Tt eSPORTS.
SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES
PACKAGING AND CONTENTS
As always you can see a picture of the product at the front right above the main product features.
You will find several product pictures at the rear showcasing the main features of the VERTO gaming headset alongside the features and specifications lists.
The box contains the VERTO gaming headset, 1m long 3.5mm mobile cable, 3m long 3.5mm PC cable with in-line controller, carrying/storage bag and the warranty information booklet.
THE VERTO
The carrying bag Tt eSPORTS bundles with the VERTO is actually so big and nice looking that you may put it to good use elsewhere (if you don't want to place the headset inside).
At first glance the 284g heavy VERTO (without any cables attached) looks like a stripped down version of a larger headset since the metal frame is visible for the most part.
Of course that's not a bad thing since aside low weight size is also reduced as you can see from the above picture (we placed it again the very small REVO wireless headset).
Tt eSPORTS has placed their dragon on the exterior of both earcups.
The Omni-directional noise cancelling microphone has a vertical range of motion at around 100 degrees and as you can see it's quite flexible.
The 3.5mm audio input is placed at the base of the left earcup right next to the microphone.
Left and right markings are placed right above both earcups.
We were surprised to see that the VERTO comes with large enough (aside soft) earcups/earpads that your ears can fit inside easily.
The headpad on the other hand may not look as comfortable but thanks to the auto-adjusting headband it actually is (can stretch around 55mm on each end).
As always Tt eSPORTS has printed their logo and name at the exterior of the headpad.
Both earcups swivel all the way so it's easier to carry (and place in the carrying bag).
Via the in-line controller you can control the volume levels of the headset and you can also turn on or mute the microphone.
Another good surprise was that all 3.5mm plugs are gold plated (we don't get to see both ends gold plated all the time).
CONCLUSION
When i took the VERTO out of its box and finished taking the pictures i expected that it would be yet another good stereo headset with not much to show in terms of audio quality but i have to admit that i was very wrong. Now i don't know how Tt eSPORTS did it but the VERTO gaming headset far surpassed my expectations since although it managed to produce crisp and clear mids and highs the real surprise was its impressive bass levels (always for 40mm drivers). I have of course used better headsets in the past but the VERTO easily outperforms most headsets beneath the USD120/120Euros price point and that's not a small achievement. The lightweight frame, Omni-directional noise cancelling microphone (which worked extremely well although i would like to see the same auto on-off feature used in the NASH 20), auto-adjusting headband, removable cables and the swivel design of the large and comfortable earpads complete what might be one of the best gaming headsets unveiled in 2014 (till now anyways). Granted the VERTO may not be the best looking headset out there but that comes down to personal preference so it's not really a drawback.
The VERTO gaming headset by Tt eSPORTS is quite new in the market so you may have a slight problem in tracking it down. However after searching several online stores we found that it currently retails for around USD79.99 inside the USA and 79Euros inside the EU. Overall Tt eSPORTS has released a very good gaming headset that unlike most of its competition aims to win gamers not because it looks great and has many bells and whistles on it but because of its audio performance. That's not all however since the VERTO gaming headset is also very comfortable and that along with its very good audio performance are the reasons as to why we are giving it our Platinum Award.
