INTRODUCTION

Bookshelf speakers have long been the sweet spot for listeners who want compact size without sacrificing sonic presence. Designed to fit neatly on desks, shelves, or stands, they balance clarity, warmth, and versatility, serving equally well for music, movies, or casual listening. Unlike larger floor-standing models, their appeal lies in delivering a focused soundstage that thrives in smaller rooms. Over the years, powered bookshelf speakers have become especially popular, eliminating the need for external amplifiers, and simplifying setup for everyday users. Today’s focus is on the D100 Bookshelf speakers which Majority Audio released late last year.
Majority began in 2012 as a classic start-up story: two guys, one garage, and an idea. Take our founders, PJ and Eddie, throw in a few buckets of energy, a warehouse worth of open-mindedness and a living room crammed with ambition. Top that off with plenty of the nation’s favourite fuel (tea of course) and you have Majority. Since founding, we’ve grown from two guys working out of a living room to a team of over 40 with offices across the UK, and we’ve never looked back.
The Majority Audio D100 Bookshelf speakers deliver 100WRMS of output (50+50) and are built around a 3-driver sound system which allows them to deliver a frequency response of 40Hz–20kHz (according to some distributors - Majority only lists 30Hz) and an impedance of 8Ω, giving them the range to handle deep bass while maintaining clarity across the mids and highs. Connectivity is a standout feature since the D100 support Bluetooth v5.3 for stable wireless streaming, alongside HDMI ARC, optical, USB (charging and MP3/WMA playback - up to 2TB capacity flash drives supported), AUX, and RCA inputs, plus a dedicated phono input for turntables. This flexibility allows seamless integration with pretty much any TV, computer, and hi-fi setup. Each of the speakers measure 17x18.2x27.5cm and weighs 6.8 kg, striking a balance between desktop usability and room-filling presence. An aluminum remote control is included for easy adjustments, while the solid wooden cabinet design adds a touch of style to its functional build. With Xtra Bass tuning and powered amplification, the D100 Bookshelf Speakers aim to deliver immersive stereo sound without the need for external gear.
