CONCLUSION

    Just like with most if not all products out there whenever I start testing a pair of speakers I always start by looking at cost because let's face it, you can't expect the same audio performance from a pair of $100 speakers and a pair of $500 speakers. Majority has always done a good job in that regard, yes, for the most part build quality has always been just “ok” for many of their products (they need to cut corners somewhere to compete with larger manufacturers), but they’ve all performed better than expected and yes, the same applies for the D100. Mids and highs are quite crisp and accurate (detail and soundstage could be better – these aren’t Hi-Res after all), lows are acceptable and as for volume levels they are more than sufficient to fill one large room. Needless to say, everything depends on the source (and input) you’ll be using and strangely enough the R7 player by FiiO actually performed better with the D100 compared to their R9. Design-wise the D100 may not stand out while the covers are on, but I don’t expect that to be a game changer for potential buyers.

    Right now, the D100 Bookshelf Speakers by Majority retail for USD113.95 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 140.62Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) so they are certainly affordable. Overall, I don’t have any complaints from the D100 Bookshelf Speakers by Majority, they perform well and don’t ask for a lot in return. Yes, they are not award winning material and if you’re looking for something that stands out both in audio performance and looks the D100 may not be that but I strongly recommend them to people on a tight budget, they might just be what you’re looking for.
