edifier es300 review b

Almost every single speaker I’ve received from Edifier has delivered on everything I was hoping it would and the ES300 is no exception. It produces very good audio accuracy (bass could be richer however) which at times seems to be coming not from a single location but two separate ones. The ideal scenario of course would be using two ES300 speakers placed a few meters from each other resulting in a wider soundstage but clearly that’s not something most people will opt to do. Moving to battery life things here are quite good and although I didn’t quite make it to 12 hours while testing the ES300 I did record over 10 hours at around 80% volume and with the LED bar at 100% brightness. Build quality is very good if not excellent and as for the touch controls aside being illuminated they are also very responsive (clockwise movement to increase brightness/volume and counterclockwise to decrease). As for the LED bar thanks to the fact that it only has white and yellow as available colors it fits well with the entire retro concept.

Just days before the Christmas holidays the ES300 tabletop wireless speaker by Edifier retails for USD349.99 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 199.99Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) so at least over here, it’s priced properly. Overall, the ES300 may not be the perfect wireless speaker but it does deliver as advertised and that’s why it gets the Golden Award.
