CONCLUSION
Testing a portable battery is very easy but it requires quite a bit of time especially if you redo all tests a total of 6 times like we do. However things can get quite easier when you have many portable batteries around and currently in our testing grounds we have 9 different models ranging from 3200mAh and up to 23000mAh so testing the FUEL+ 7800mAh PowerBank took slightly over 2 days with very positive results. As always and as expected we didn't manage to hit the maximum rated battery capacity (7800mAh in our case) but according to our calculations after using it with several smartphones, tablets and other portable batteries the FUEL+ 7800mAh PowerBank actually has a valid capacity of 5200-5400mAh (capacity may slightly vary from device to device) which is not bad at all when compared to the advertised capacity. The dual USB ports is a nice touch for people who want the device to charge both their smartphone and tablet and i expect more manufacturers to follow the same path as Patriot.
Roughly two years ago portable batteries with capacities at around 8000mAh used to cost quite a bit but as with most electronics after a while things changed and so today you can have the FUEL+ 7800mAh PowerBank for just USD52.98 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and 58Euros inside the EU (Amazon.co.uk). Overall Patriot has designed and manufactured a very good portable battery ideal for people who may need to carry it around inside their wallet/purse something which is not always possible with some larger models. Sure 7800mAh is not really much by today’s standards not when there are models with capacities up to 23000mAh but for an emergency it's more than just sufficient. So thanks to its very good build quality, portable size, good design, 7800mAh lithium ion battery and a very tempting price tag the FUEL+ 7800mAh PowerBank by Patriot walks with our Golden Award.
