eizo ev2795 review b

Even though i do take more than 3000 pictures per week with my D3500 and 800D DSLR cameras i don't really consider myself to be a professional photographer (far from it). Still i do appreciate color accuracy and crisp images just as much as the pros and this is where the FlexScan family has always delivered. Of course, this also holds true for the EV2795 model which actually had me talking about its vivid colors (and accuracy) and crisp image reproduction to some of my friends long after i finished this review a couple of weeks back. Unfortunately, this is not a gaming monitor, primarily due to its 60Hz refresh rate but also because of its 5ms GTG response time. Honestly size has begun to also be an issue for me lately but only because I’ve been using 35/40/49-inch screens in both the office and at home so going back to something smaller (much smaller at that) is not easy for my eyes (this is just me of course, i don't expect people looking for a 27-inch screen to be in the same predicament). The only “issue” i had with the FlexScan EV2795 was with its recorded brightness levels vs the advertised ones. Yes, the difference is not huge but i was expecting slightly more than just around 270cd/m2 (still no problems during testing). As for build quality not much to say here, it’s an EIZO after all.

EIZO has always been the “Mercedes” of LCD monitors not just due to their build quality and superb support but also because of the wealth of features one can’t find on most (if not all) equivalent models from their competition. So naturally EIZO screens have never been quite “affordable” and yes at a current price set at around USD1050 inside the USA and 723Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) the FlexScan EV2795 isn’t that either. Still, we also need to keep in mind that these LCD monitors are aimed primarily towards professionals so price doesn’t matter nearly as much as it does to for example gamers. At the end of the day the EIZO FlexScan EV2795 is a very good QHD LCD monitor that packs numerous high-end features making it ideal for professionals and since it really delivers it gets the Golden Award.
