CONCLUSION

    I've always enjoyed testing products by Majority and the same more or less applies for the D40X. Yes, they will not overwhelm you with their audio performance but being an affordable speaker set they were never meant to (and they are certainly a lot better compared to monitor and laptop speakers). Mids and highs are relatively crisp and clear and as for bass levels although the D40X do pack a good punch let's just say they weren’t designed for bass rich music genres (not very warm/accurate). Build quality is good overall but certainly not great, again something you'd expect from a budget-friendly pair of speakers that weigh just 3.8Kg. Volume levels are ok for the size but at full setting you may experience some noise, this however depends largely on the source. As for the SD card slot and the USB port they both work as advertised and well, this is always a feature I welcome with every speaker system.

    Currently the D40X Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers by Majority retail for USD84.95 inside the USA (Amazon.com – $15 coupon currently available) and for 79.67Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de – 10% discount coupon currently available) a price tag which is very balanced for this speaker set. Overall, the D40X performed well so if you’re not a very demanding user and are out in the market looking for an affordable set this could be the one for you.
